Even while 85% of the 722 respondents have little or no involvement in Internet marketing, 69% say that their investment in it will increase over the next year, and a full 80% see an increase in the popularity of e-detailing over the next 3 years. The share of advertising dollars allocated to online, now about 5%, is rising faster than expected. Piper Jaffray analyst Safa Rashtchy predicts that the tipping point - the inflection point when online spending growth will accelerate - will happen in the latter half of 2006.
